1-2 TB. organic raisins or currants
1/2 cup water
or apple juice
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Arrowroot or Kuzu*
pinch of unrefined sea salt
Wash and slice pears. I leave the
skins on if they are organic.
Place the pears in a saucepan
with water or juice, pinch of sea salt, and raisins or currants.
Bring to boil, turn down heat,
add cinnamon, cover and simmer 3-4 minutes.
Dissolve arrowroot or kuzu in
small amount of cold water and stir into the mixture.
Bring to a boil again, turn down
heat, and simmer 1-2 minutes more, stirring constantly until mixture
can make this compote with a variety of fruits, including berries,
even dried fruits such as apricots, apples, prunes, etc.
