What Do You Have To Lose is a free monthly newsletter that addresses the physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual aspects of weight issues. This author’s goal is to shift your attention from food and weight, to balanced health, harmony, and joyful living. Balanced weight is a natural outflow.

Recent studies show that more than half of U.S. adults are overweight, and Americans spend $33 billion annually on weight loss products and services. Have you ever considered the possibility that we’re looking in the wrong direction for solutions to the growing weight problems of this country? Weight issues are health issues and should be addressed as such. Excess weight is one way that our body communicates to us that something is out of balance. Instead of looking for the message behind the issue, most people take a superficial approach; i.e., “going on a diet”. Reducing food intake, taking drugs, starving oneself, or going on a “fad” diet will never bring long-term results. You may lose some weight, but you can have so much more with our “Whole Health” approach – radiant health, passionate living, abundance, loving relationships, and joy and fulfillment from life. Balanced health includes all of these factors. Often it is the lack of these things that contributes to weight problems.

What Do You Have To Lose? provides information, articles, tips and resources to get you back to your center—the place where a slimmer, healthier you is just waiting to emerge. The foundation of our approach is Holistic. Because our bodies are affected by a variety of factors, internal and external, this e-zine offers suggestions for our many aspects.

I'm very excited about my upcoming  -Session Natural Weight Loss™  Live Class (Pittsburgh) and TeleSeminar  (international).     The Live Workshop begins September 29 and the TeleSeminar begins October 7. 

A TeleSeminar allows you to learn from the comfort of your own home, or from anywhere that there is a phone available.  A TeleSeminar is a conference call, like a chat line, and includes discussion, some lecture, some questions.  TeleSeminars are highly interactive and the 'flow' works well. You can listen and absorb and/or engage in the discussion. You can always ask questions of the TeleClass Leader. 

Participants in the Live Workshop and TeleSeminar will receive Natural Weight Loss Guidebook.

WEIGHT LOSS MYTHS 

  • Overeating is the cause.
  • Too much good food is the cause.
  • Not exercising causes weight gain.
  • Slow metabolism is the culprit. 
  • Counting calories is the answer. 
  • It’s genetic.
  • Carbohydrates cause weight gain
  • Low-protein makes me fat.
  • Vegetarians are all skinny.
  • My parents (and other relatives) are fat
  • Hypothyroid is the cause.
  • Menopause is the cause
  • Aging causes weight gain.     

There are many, many false beliefs that lead to weight issues.  Our health, weight, and our lives will reflect what’s in our consciousness.  All of the choices we make are done in an attempt to fulfill our beliefs. For the most part the beliefs and attitudes of families, role models, religion, media, science and our culture become our own and can be obstacles to success.   This is the most demoting factor in our ability to change our condition and experience good health, happiness and freedom. 

It's important to create your own set of beliefs that support your path, and abandon those that belong to others.  It's up to us to decide what's good for us--not our families, friends, or any other outside authority.  This does not mean that we cannot benefit greatly from teachers, classes, books, science, and religion.  Researching different points of view can help give clarity on what's good for you. You are very capable and know better than anyone what is best for you.  The best teacher, book, class or philosophy is the one that teaches and empowers you to be your own guru.

REPROGRAMMING

We're all programmed to have radiantly healthy bodies.  Our conditioning will determine the state of our health, weight and lives.  We can choose to "recondition" ourselves at any time.  It requires a strong desire, unshakable belief in oneself, and a willingness to have what we say we want

Other co-factors that are extremely helpful are having a support system of like-minded people, an understanding of how we get what we get, accountability to someone, daily focus on what we want, the ability to "let go" of what's not serving us, and a facilitator who can listen non-judgmentally and guide you toward your own answers.

What outdated beliefs are you acting on today that are a resistance to your weight loss goals?  What new attitudes can you replace them with?

Weight issues (and all problems) cannot be solved at the level of belief that caused the problem in the first place.  Cultivate the mindset that all things are possible.  Make a decision to think like the kind of person who can move beyond circumstances and change anything.  Keep moving to a higher level of awareness.  Pay attention.  Know the impact of your choices, why you make those choices, and how you feel about them. 

 

Make a commitment to letting go of any thought patterns that do not contribute to radiant health, emotional harmony, vibrant energy, and a life you love.  The strength of the commitment will override any past negative beliefs or failures.  Forget the past.  Stay in the present moment.  This is where your power is.   Refuse to give any attention to past failures or attitudes and beliefs of others that are disempowering.

 

Avoid being around people who are negative, victims, complainers, etc.  It’s easy to get drawn in to others’ dramas and disempowering conversations.  Either gracefully change the subject to something positive or walk away.  Be mentally strong.  Some people love to talk about their problems and don’t really want solutions.  Recognize this type of person and avoid them.

 

Success will come from aligning your thoughts with your desires.  Then the right circumstances, people, environments, and experiences will just show up.

Mastering a healthy and radiant body comes from our ability to understand and live from a Higher Part of ourselves.  That Higher Part is our Soul and it thrives on self-love.  All circumstances and conditions, including weight issues, are an opportunity to have a loving experience with ourselves when we change our perspective.  Weight issues are showing we are out of alignment with our true Power, our ability to create any reality we want.  This kind of Power is intensified with self-love.  Our culture discourages this kind of Power.  It does not come from the intellect, but from aligning the love of the heart and the wisdom of the mind.

How do we get back into alignment?  Here are a few tips:

  • Make a decision to appreciate, validate, accept and value who you are in this moment.
  • Make a commitment to yourself and your life.
  • Daily find new things to like about yourself.
  • Learn how to listen to and communicate with your Soul.  It is your instinctive, intuitive, and create aspects.
  • You have your own built-in "guru".  Learn to access her.
  • Get quiet and relaxed, ask questions, listen attentively, then act on the guidance.
  • Use all problems as your mirror.  What are they reflecting back to you about you, your beliefs and ways of being? 

Genuine "Soul" Love will heal all problems.  LOVE begins at home with oneself.  The "gift" in your weight loss challenge may be learning to love and respect yourself unconditionally.  From this state no problems exist.
